Baby Wipes: The Reason Why You Should Keep Them Handy During Summer
Share on FacebookShare on TwitterShare on PinterestEmail

With all the heat, dust, and sweat, summers often get intolerable for us grown-ups, let alone babies! No wonder they are mostly left feeling uncomfortable.

While it’s not feasible to give them showers every once in a while, you still need to ensure they are fresh. Wondering how?

Natural baby wipes are your go-to solution, particularly if you’re traveling or don’t have clean bathrooms within easy access. With baby wipes at your disposal, you can clean all that dirt, sweat, grease, etc. in seconds while also moisturizing your baby’s skin, as most baby wipes from reputed brands don’t have alcohol content and use glycerine instead.

This provides moisturization and is well-suited for use all over.

Natural baby wipes are a quick and easy substitute for a bath for your baby. They not only keep your infant safe from dust, perspiration, and grime from your infant’s skin, leaving them with a cool, refreshed feeling.

When to Use Natural Baby Wipes

  • Changing diapers: babies, in general, have very sensitive skin; it is all the more sensitive in the area where diapers are worn. No wonder diaper rash is a common concern amongst parents of newborns, especially in summer. With baby wipes, however, the area stays well-hydrated and soft, thus keeping diaper rash at bay. When you change diapers, make sure you clean the area gently with baby wipes, as it will keep your baby’s skin soothed.
  • Cleaning the baby’s pacifier: this is another area where baby wipes prove to be hugely useful.
  • Wiping their face and hands: bid adieu to the hassles of wetting and cleaning napkins to wipe the baby’s face and hands. Especially while traveling, natural baby wipes will prove to be a savior of sorts.
  • Cleaning plastic toys: your baby must be having hordes of them, right? Baby wipes are highly effective in removing dirt, dust, germs, etc. So you need not worry about your baby getting infections.

It may often happen that your child starts crying out of nowhere. The reason might be simple: your little bundle of joy is feeling hot. In such a situation, baby wipes will come to your rescue! However, you must also exert enough caution when it comes to choosing the right baby wipes.

Here are a few things to watch out for:

  • Plant-based material: it is advisable to go for natural baby wipes that are made of plant-based materials, as these are gentle and soft that preserve the delicate skin of your baby.
  • Dermatologically tested: these products will not lead to any irritation or allergies and are absolutely safe for your baby’s skin.
  • 100% Biodegradable: this means that natural baby wipes can break down in a natural environment without leaving behind any toxins. Thus, by buying biodegradable baby wipes, you are also promoting an environment-friendly cause.
  • Toxin-free: choose baby wipes that have zero toxins such as sulfates, silicones, mineral oil, harmful chemicals, fragrances, paraben, etc. the harmful toxins are nasty for the skin of babies, often leading to redness and allergies.
  • Rich in natural ingredients: it is always a good idea to go for baby wipes that are infused with natural ingredients. The goodness of these ingredients will soothe your baby’s skin and keep it hydrated. They also keep allergies at bay.

What Else Are Baby Wipes Used for

The use of baby wipes goes beyond just skincare for babies. They have diverse uses, not only in summer but all year round. Some of these are as follows:

  • Dusting plants: if you are a plant parent, you can use baby wipes to keep the leaves clean and green.
  • Keeping herbs fresh: damp baby wipes are great for wrapping your fresh herbs. This way, they will stay fresh for a longer period of time.
  • Giving a shine to your shoes: any type of leather can be cleaned with baby wipes. The best part is since they are devoid of any nasty chemicals, there is no risk of the leather getting discolored. These soft wipes work wonderfully to lend a shining look to your shoes.s
  • Makeup remover: on days when you’re too exhausted to follow your usual deep-cleansing regime for your skin, you can try baby wipes to remove makeup in minutes!

You can also use baby wipes to clean light switches, de-grease frying pans, as an on-the-go oil diffuser, and so on.

So think no more, and keep a good stock of baby wipes. Be it for diaper changes, cleaning messy fingers, or even for toys and other surfaces, you simply cannot do without baby wipes if you have an infant.
